ACHU Alphonse ABONGWA is a Cameroonian Journalist; currently working for the Cameroon Radio Television, Crtv. Alphonse is part of the pioneer cream of Cameroon’s trained Backpack Journalists. He has covered a wide range of subjects both in Cameroon and beyond the country. He has also been Programmes Officer in Charge of Communication and Public Relations at the Center for Communication and Sustainable Development for All, CECOSDA during which he created and ran the Green Alert Network, GAN; a network of 30 Community Journalists across the 10 Regions of Cameroon, advocating for practices that preserve the environment and nature as a whole through reports filed in and published on the website and social media handles of the network.
Alphonse has taught Journalism and Communication in Cameroon and occupied the post of Head of Department in 2015 before eventually relocating from Yaounde to Douala due to professional exigencies. He is currently one of the editors of Nyaa Publishers, one of Cameroon’s leading Publishing and Printing Houses. He has a litany of certificates obtained from workshops organised by the Turkish Embassy, Professional Networks of Journalism amongst others.
