Synthia Lateu

Synthia Lateu is a Cameroonian journalist and multimedia storyteller with experience in broadcast and digital journalism. She currently works with Canal 2 International and is a contributor to the Cameroon News Agency and West Africa Health, covering social, political, health and economic issues of public interest. She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Buea, where her research focused on how mainstream print journalists respond to fake news. Her professional interests include fact-checking, misinformation, investigative reporting, digital media and information integrity. Through her work, Synthia is committed to producing accurate, evidence-based journalistic pieces, and using digital platforms to make public-interest information accessible to wider audiences. She is particularly interested in strengthening her skills in OSINT, fact-checking and emerging forms of digital manipulation through this cohort 1 of the #AFFCameroon.
