Firmin, known by many as BECK BECK is a graphic designer, community manager, and digital communications professional based in Yaounde, Cameroon. He is trained in Publishing and Graphic Arts at ESSTIC, and most recently completed certifications in AI-Powered SEO and Social Media Marketing with Le Wagon and HP Life. Firmin runs his own creative studio, Art Nova Tech, where he combines graphic design, digital communication, and AI tools to help people and organizations communicate more effectively. Before that, Firmin has worked as a Community Manager and Graphic Designer at DK Group Cameroon, with further experience at CABTAL and Éditions Proximité. He is also involved in Cameroon’s civic tech community through LAB 237, and he has become increasingly interested in how AI-generated disinformation threatens trust during African elections, a concern that shaped the project he pitched for the fellowship. Firmin looks forward to sharpening his fact-checking skills in this cohort of the Africa Fact-Checking Fellowship – #AFFCameroon.
