Amuh Viet Naam is a Cameroonian Pupil advocate-in-training, legal researcher, and civil society advocate based in Yaounde. She holds a Masters degree in International Law from the University of Yaounde II Soa, and is currently undergoing her pupilage (Bar Training) with the Cameroon Bar Association while gaining practical experience at Me-eh & Co Law Chambers. She is a professional and researcher of law, human rights, digital rights, peace building and information integrity. Since 2019, Viet has worked with Heart of Hope Cameroon, where she contributes to legal research and advocacy on human rights, youth rights, and digital safety. Her work includes amongst others, digital rights advocacy and awareness work on technology facilitated gender based violence under the organization’s digital rights Project. Viet is particularly drawn to the intersection of law, technology, intellectual property, civic participation, peace building and information integrity. Through the African Fact-Checking Fellowship she seeks to strengthen her practical skills in fact-checking, OSINT, and digital verification, particularly in addressing misinformation and misconceptions about legal and digital rights issues in Cameroon. She hopes to use these skills to make complex legal information more accessible and contribute to a more informed and responsible digital environment in the country.
