Dinayen Emilien Bongdzeem

Dinayen Emilien Bongdzeem is a Cameroonian communications and advocacy professional and the Founder and Executive Director of Safe Haven Foundation, a youth-led organisation working on gender-based violence prevention and survivor support, mental wellbeing, digital inclusion and community empowerment. Her work focuses on strengthening access to support, knowledge and opportunities for young people and minority communities. Through Safe Haven Foundation and other initiatives, she has led community outreach, GBV prevention and awareness activities, digital inclusion initiatives, youth learning sessions and advocacy campaigns. She also has experience in communications, media monitoring, research, content development and public engagement.

Emilien is particularly interested in the intersection between information, technology and social issues, including how misinformation, manipulated content and harmful online narratives can contribute to violence, harassment and the silencing of vulnerable voices. Her work with young people has also involved digital safety, responsible technology use, peacebuilding and civic participation. Through #AFFCameroon, she hopes to strengthen her skills in fact-checking, information verification, open-source research and information integrity, and apply these skills to her work with communities in Cameroon.
